Dumb Minecrafters' 2013 and the future in 5 minutes

At the end of 2012, I had a goal: get the popularity on the Internet that tragically was taken away from me that year back. I knew I had to think of something else, and my instant solution was a website all about Minecraft!

This is a badass hobby, posting news and nonsense about and based on Minecraft, and I try my best to make this site is gradually improve (damn, it has gone through so many changes this year).

Still, there is an amazing lot of room of improvement. In 2014, I will be extremely (that's an underestimation) busy and my apologies, but I will post less. I will focus a bit more on videos as there is a huge community on YouTube*.

I would like to thank Caleb from Stuff For Dummies for being such an awesome supporter on my website, who was crazy enough to read and reply to my spam on his website, and follow me for the entire year. He is the one who keeps my website going.

Have a derpy Christmas!

*I used to be a YouTuber, and someone falsely accused me of using inappropriate language, forcing me to close it down and threatened to take further action if I refused. That's why I'm here. The coward that did not stand up for my channel. I learned a lot from then.

D. Minecrafters Original Animation- Don't Trade with Villagers

If you don't get it, here's the storyline-

I come back home after a long night of mining. Putting my trusty pickaxe on the table, I go to bed, not knowing the blacksmith from the village is hanging on my wall and he grabs my pick before taking off.

When I hear the noise, I come out and see the blacksmith. All he says is,"Do you want to trade back your trusty pickaxe?". Then I beat him up (not in the video).

C418's Minecraft Volume Beta

After 3 years at work, C418 has created the long awaited Minecraft Volume Beta. Being the second Minecraft music album, it has an incredibly dramatic and even haunting feel, as the player navigates his way in to the terryfying Nether, or have the epic fight with the Ender Dragon.

The album contains a whopping number of 30 songs, ranging from 1 min 30 sec to 15 min (my gawd, the longest song I've created was only 1 min 10 sec).

Minecraft Volume Beta is available on BandcampiTunesAmazon and Google Play. Or you can do it the illegal way and get the album on some pirated website, but that ain't my problem because I'm getting the album on iTunes.

If Dumb Minecrafters Coded MC 1.8

The Update that Changed the World (Minecraft 1.7) has came out quite a few weeks back, with some notable features. But what could 1.8 possibly have to offer? This is the list of horrible things Dumb Minecrafters will do to everyone's favourite video game if we were to code MC 1.8*.

1. BIGGER VILLAGES AND CRAZIER VILLAGERS

In 1.8, villagers will be able to teabag like Steve, get crazy (by randomly spinning their heads like lunatics) and will drop what their trading when you kill them. Players would be able to hold villagers with a lead by their noses.

There would also be small (and legit) trading centres and mass destruction structures that will blow up the dumb village. In addition, Ghast will spawn above the village.

2. CONTROLS CHANGE EVERY SECOND WHILE USING KEYBOARD,  SO HAVE TO USE "MINECRAFT CONTROLLER" TO PLAY INSTEAD

In order to stop people from using their keyboards to play Minecraft, while using a keyboard to play MC, keyboard controls change every second.

To solve the problem, you will have to buy a "Minecraft Controller'' to play the game, which will costs only US$199999999999.99 on Amazon, with a 0.000001% discount during the 1st week after official release of the "Minecraft Controller"(which will spoil in 3 days).

3. PAY US$999999999.99 EVERY MONTH OF HEROBRINE IN SINGLEPLAYER + MULTIPLAYER

Read the title...WE WANT MONEY

*This is just a joke. We don't mean to offend Mojang. Notch and Jeb and other Mojang employees are great people, not greedy idots like us, so yeah.

Minecon 2013: 2 Day's of Minecraft Craze

It's finally here. 2 amazing days of Minecraft (and also Cobalt and Scrolls) update hints and talks and activities with the most famous people of Minecraft.

This year, Minecon 2013 is currently held at Orlando, Florida, USA, ironically the same place where a father scapegoated Minecraft for influences his son into bringing weapons to school. How ridiculously stupid. The annual event started yesterday (2 November) and will end today (3 November).

You can catch a live stream of Day 2 of Minecon 2013 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRe9HVIKRwE tonight. Let's see how it will go!

Minecraft 1.7 Review

Update Rating: 7/10

Overall Review
1.7 contains amazing new features which enhances the experience while exploring worlds, building in creative mode and using commands, but is a bit laggy and glitchy, which disappoints us a little.

Here are some of our favourite new features in 1.7-

Mesa Biome
A beautiful but rare biome that is made out of red sand and six colours different clay with the occasional cacti here and there...and dead bushes. Definitely a good place to find clay.

Roofed Forest Biome
A dense Dark Oak Forest with leaves blocking the sunlight, and mushrooms and large mushrooms in the vicinity. This place is so awfully dark even hostile mobs can spawn in daylight. My goodness.

/summon
1.7 introduces the craziest command in the history of Minecraft. The moment you type /summon (entity name e.g. Creeper), the mob will automatically spawn in your face.

You can even summon Giants (which were hidden in the code for eternity), and the Ender Dragon into the overworld. Now that's over-powered. You can type in the XYZ coordinates behind the command to spawn the mob at a certain area (e.g. 10~10~10)

The other features introduced in 1.7 are in the list below in general

+ Added lots of new biomes!
+ Added “AMPLIFIED” world type
+ Added Acacia and Old Oak wood types
+ Added Stained Glass
+ Added Packed Ice, Red Sand, Podzol
+ Added a bunch of new flowers, including double-height flowers and grass
+ Added more types of fish
+ Fishing rods can be enchanted
+ Achievements are now world specific
+ Gaining achievements now announced to other players
+ Added a few new achievements
+ Servers can now have a “server-icon.png” that is displayed in the multiplayer list
+ You can see who’s online before joining, just hover the player count number in the server list
+ New /summon command
+ Added Command Block minecart
+ Links in chat are now clickable
+ Click on somebody’s name to send a private message
+ Added a bunch of new graphics options
+ Added some shader tests (click on the “Super Secret Settings” a couple of times…)
* Biome placement has been improved, and oceans are smaller
* Portals to the Nether can now have different shapes
* Fishing is now more interesting
* Maps in item frames are now extra big
* The achievement screen is zoomable
* Preparations have been made to offer name change in the future
* You can now have multiple resource packs loaded at the same time
* Resource packs can now hold sound effects
* Servers can recommend resource packs
* Network code has been rewritten
* Sound manager has been rewritten
* Many many bug fixes…
- Removed the Rose flower
- Removed Herobrine

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!

The pain of finishing piles after piles of worksheets throughout the bitter nights have been done; time for some Minecraft, don't you think? AWW YEAH.

When we had the time, we worked our ass off on replenishing the website, secretly to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Dumb Minecrafters. Yes, we are not The Dumb Kid's Stuff anymore, because we started to feel that that was quite a crappy name.

New posts will be regular as usual so don't worry.

19 September 2013

And now we shall go into hibernation...again

Well, we are now in the awful time of the year where we spent our hours and days preparing for the upcoming exams. It's sad to say to say this, but we will not be posting anything on this website for the whole of October 2013.

We do know that it is a bit irresponsible for a news website to not post anything for more than a week, but it will be more irresponsible of us to not prepare for the exams.

See you again in November 2013 and sorry for inconvenience caused. :-(

Is Minecraft Violent and Gory?

Look, I have gotten quite sick of my friends' parents saying that Minecraft is violent and inappropriate just by looking at the game for 5 seconds, so I am going to write this here, once and for all:

Minecraft has NO notable amount of gore and has 100% no blood in the game (unless you download modifications made by third-party creators). In the game code, there is 100% no foul language unless other players are using vulgarities on the chat panel (which I will further explain later).

Although Minecraft has a 1st person shooter view (as if it is Call of Duty or some bloody game), the game is mainly about building structures and surviving in the wild.

The only time a bit of "violence" comes is when monsters come after you at night and you have to protect your structures, and when you go to other Dimensions such as "The End", where you have to defeat a boss creature before collecting extremely rare items.

In Minecraft, there are also Mutiplayer servers where players can play creative games that others make, and some people might use foul language on chat panels, although some server creators know how to edit the code and censor all foul language.

If that is not enough, here's a Let's Play video from a Minecraft player:

Mass Effect Mash-up Pack for Minecraft Xbox 360!

The secret is finally uncovered: 4J Studios will release a Mash-up Pack for Minecraft Xbox 360 based on the fear-filled game, Mass Effect.

It will feature a map based on Mass Effect 3's Mars Facility, a Mass Effect texture, a Mass Effect user-interface, 36 Mass Effect skins and 22 Mass Effect songs from the game's soundtrack. It will cost about US$4.00, or 320 MS Points (hmmm...sounds like a pretty good deal to me).

Upcoming Games: Angry Birds Star Wars II

Just when you thought the fun is over, this was announced: Angry Birds Star Wars II is coming!

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 will be based in the times of the prequel trilogy (Episodes 1,2,3) and will feature all new characters including General Grievous, Lando, Anakin Skywalker, Jango Fett, Emperor Palpatine and...NOOO!!! WHY DID THEY PUT JAR JAR BINKS IN THE GAME!!!

Anyway, in Angry Birds Star Wars 2, there will finally be a feature where you can choose to be part of the Light Side, or "Pork" Side.

A "Telepod" being used

"Telepods" made for the game look like the respective Angry Bird Star Wars characters, and when you place them on your screen, you can play as that character and butt into some peoples! "Telepods" will be out in toy stores, but if you can't find them, then go get them on Amazon or eBay.

The game will be out on September 19 on App Stores (most likely on iOS and Android first), so go get it the moment it's out! May the birds be with you!

Upcoming Games: Minecraft PS3, PS4 and PS Vita Editions

A year ago, it was rumoured that Microsoft had a contract with 4J Studios, which stated that Minecraft will only be available on one console gaming platform...the Xbox 360 (and Xbox One).

But today, 4J Studios proudly shared this message to the world on Twitter:

Happy to confirm we're developing Minecraft PS3, PS4 & PS Vita Editions for Mojang, as well as Xbox 360 & Xbox One Editions! -4J Studios

I am very happy for the Playstation gamers out there and I hope you will enjoy the game, but with 4 Minecraft Editions in 4J Studios' hands, they must be working their brains out. Hopefully, the Playstation editions of Minecraft will be out in a few months time.

Minecraft PC 1.7: The Biome Update???

Recently, Jeb posted a few tweets and pictures about Minecraft PC 1.7, and now we know that 1.7 will definitely feature new biomes...3 new biomes: Clay Mountains, Redwood Forest and the Cliff.

Here is our description of the biomes:

Clay Mountains
Basically a clay heaven which looks like a canyon. The exterior of this biome is made out of nothing but hardened clay, stained clay, and dead bushes.

Redwood Forest
Just your typical European forest (and looks like Slender's forest in the night) Unofficially dubbed the Redwood Forest, it is a pretty biome made out of spruce trees, dirt that cannot grow into trees and other stuff.

A new block called Podzol (a yucky version of grass) is introduced into this biome.

The Cliff
This here biome is a stone heaven. Most of it is vertical stone, but it looks more or less like the Extreme Hills biome.

When you are mining in this biome, remember to watch your step!

Back to the Old Template

Hello my dear strangers from the WWW!

This is important news! We are officially back to our old website template (that we had previously removed in May 2013) as we have realised that using a simple custom template is better than a fancy one created randomly by someone else from DeluxeTemplates.net

Our own template (the one that you now see) also blends in more with our DKS logo and we do find that text is easier to read with the simple white, blue and dark grey colours.

By the way, Blogger powers this website and if you are interested, you can always hit this link (www.blogger.com).

Thank you for your understanding.

Minecraft Xbox TU12 MYTHS

There have been way to many ignorant people going around telling the people (who know the right stuff) that they are noobs who don't know the new features.

Okay, here's the features that will NOT be available in Minecraft Xbox Title Update 12. There will be no Wither, no different types of NPC Villagers, no trading system with villagers, and no carpets.

If you don't believe me and ask us,"What happened to the trading, wither and carpets?"(and we will not answer that question). Now here is all the proof that we have from 4J Studios' official Twitter page.

  1. No, the Wither won't be in until a later Title Update. Just the Mob Heads for now...
  2. That is WOOL, not carpet (carpet will be taller than the surrounding blocks)
  1. For all those asking, we are working on TU12! It'll be based on Java version 1.2.3, with a few features from later versions.
(Java (PC) version 1.2.3 has no trading and carpets. TU12 will also feature a few 1.4 features though.)

Upcoming DKS Minecraft Servers and Downloadable Maps

Hello! I have some great news! We have finally decided to get rid of the 'Arcade Games' page on our website as we decided that we should do something more original (we will take the 'Arcade Games' page down soon).

What are we replacing it with then? Well, we have been working on our own DKS world on Minecraft Xbox filled with randomness since last year and we would love to share it with you guys. We hope that we will finish the building world soon and upload it to this website by the end of 2013.

Furthermore, we are also planning to create a DKS Minecraft PC server for you guys with loads of single-player games.

Stay tuned!

New Lego Minecraft Sets: The Nether and The Village

Hello guys! I am extremely excited to announce that Lego and Minecraft decided to have a partnership!

Furthermore, at the San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that Lego is releasing 2 new Minecraft sets: The Village (21105), and The Nether (21106).

Lego Mincraft Micro World: The Village & Lego Minecraft Micro World: The Nether
Both Lego Minecraft Sets will cost US$34.99 each and will be released on 1 September 2013. As they will only have a limited supply for both sets, you have to get them quick. Well, I am going to get both of them on Amazon the moment it is September the 1st.

I bought the original Lego Minecraft set and I loved it, and I hope these 2 rare Lego Sets are good recommendations for all you Minecraft fans.

How to Record Your PC/Mac Screen

Hello once again, I've done some research on how to record your Windows/Mac Screen for free/ with audio and I'd like to share my findings with you guys. Enjoy.

Windows
On Windows PCs, there is one great free application for screen recording that I really like: Ezvid (www.ezvid.com). Ezvid is not just a screen recording software, but it is also a video editing software, and even better, it is 100% free. I hope this video roughly teaches you how to use Ezvid.

Mac
On Mac, you have to use 2 different programs to do screen recording, QuickTime & iMovie (which are both built-in), and it's a little bit more complicated than the Windows procedure, so I shall explain this one myself.

  1. Open Finder (the blue and white smiley face thing) and type in the keywords "quicktime player" in the search bar.
  2. Double-click on QuickTime Player and it should appear on your dock (the thing below your screen with all the icons)
  3. Right-click the QuickTime Player logo and click New Screen Recording and New Audio Recording.
  4. Record your screen or whatever you're doing on it and your voice. Remember to save your screen recording.
  5. Go to iMovie, open a new movie and go to File (at the top right hand corner of the screen) and click Import and search for the name of your screen recording
  6. Then go to Finder and search for the name of your audio recording.
  7. Copy and paste your audio recording to your iMovie video.

Recommended For You: Redstone Guide v1.21

"Although it is an old guide, I still strongly advice noobs to read it as the methods in the free ebook still work and it helped me a lot." - The Dumb Kid's Stuff :-)

v1.21
BassoftheSea's Redstone Guide v1.21 is a badass and very helpful guide on Minecraft Redstone, a complicated thing in the game that noobs fail to understand.

The free ebook has received many positive remarks by its reviewers and it is very simple to read and I have it downloaded on my iPad. I strongly recommend it to you.

Redstone Guide v1.21 talks about The Basics of Redstone, The Nature of Redstone, how each Redstone item works and a few examples of the usage of well, Redstone! Sounds good to you, right?

In my opinion, learning the nature of Redstone is a lot better than watching tutorials that only teach you how to make one thing out of Redstone and/or Pistons, well isn't that right? Don't worry about how long you have to take to read it, because it is only 27 pages. Without further ado, I shall give you Redstone Guide v1.21's download links-

Read it on Minecraft Forum www.minecraftforum.net/topic/544827-redstone-guide-v121/
PDF link: http://www.mediafire.com/?yks937p1i9wy43w (if you cannot get through MediaFire then you can copy and paste from the Minecraft Forum link to Microsoft Word or download the eBook on a Mobile Device, preferably with a program like iBooks)

Tips on Building LEGO Structures

Wow........right
Here are some tips that you might want to consider when building Lego structures.

  1. Be patient! Whether you are building your own Lego or following a complicated instruction sheet, you can only build and outstanding Lego structure when you have patience to place each block one by one.
  2. Build your Lego sets on the floor! That way, none of your lego blocks will go flying out of the window when you take them apart using too much strength.
  3. Put your Lego blocks in one fixed space! You don't want to get any blocks missing, do you?

Holiday Season Ends

This Holiday Season has been rather disappointing, as we had not done anything special during the period of the season. Well, we were busy so that's all we could write on the blog then.

But we would really appreciate it if you would continue to follow and comment on our blog; this was just a lesson we will learn from.

Apologies,

How to: Splitscreen Mutiplayer on Minecraft Xbox

Observe the following and you will get something like this!

That was the one question on my mind today: how on earth do I set up splitscreen mutiplayer on Minecraft Xbox? Well, all the websites I went to for help were useless in my case so I figured it out myself after numerous trials and errors.

Before I get started, please note that you must have an Xbox connected to a HDTV in order to use splitscreen mutiplayer on Minecraft Xbox. And by saying that, I mean it.

Now let's get started, shall we? Observe the following or else you won't get anywhere.

On your Xbox 360...
  1. Go to the Settings hub and then select System
  2. Select Console Settings
  3. Select Display
  4. Change your display setting to 1080i
If you are not able to do the above, that means you do not have a HDTV. Now time for the Minecraft part.

After setting your display to 1080i
  1. Go into Minecraft and open a world on 1 controller only
  2. Connect your 2nd controller to your Xbox 360
  3. If your second controller successfully connects, your screen should say PRESS START, and do that.
  4. Repeat step 3 if you want to connect more controllers (up to 4 controllers)

Sorry :-(

We're running on a seriously tight schedule and our amount of time to animate is scarce. We did promise you, but we do have a lot of other things we must complete. Sorry to let you down.

Uberstrike!

I'm on vacation now, so I can't get started on our Minecraft animation yet, but anyway here is an awesome 1st person shooter game that I've been wanting to share for ages-

Uberstrike is a first person shooter game that is online and 100% free. It's pretty addictive :-) !

What the game is all about is basically killing your enemies, which are other players in a death match, team death match or team elimination match. In the game, you will compete against real people, so this is not Halo there is no end to the game.

When you log in for the first time on Uberstrike (and download a small browser plugin), it will take a looong time to load the game but if you play often enough, loading time will be no problem for you. If you are sick of loading, you can even download Uberstrike on  Mac, Windows, Android and iPad!!!
This game even has crouching like Minecraft: Press Shift key
There is a large amount of weapons to choose from: Snipers, Splatterguns (my favourite), Swords etc. I can't say a lot more about the game than this, so what are you waiting for? Go to uberstrike.com now and shoot some friends!

Minecraft Animation & Stuff

Oh hey there! I guess you guys didn't bother to tell us what our Minecraft Animation should be about, but since we're half way through the holiday season, we had to make up our mine, so our Minecraft will be named "When Steve became a Cow".

Also, we might be changing our blog's template again in our search to find the perfect template for our blog. That's all for now and see you soon.

New and Deleted Stuff

If you hadn't noticed, there has been several changes to the blog over the past month (other than the new template).

Stuff we deleted
We deleted the 'About the Website' page since we now have a (rather laggy) feature content slider in front of your face the moment you open our website which shows what the blog is about.

We deleted the 'Contact Us" page as all it told you was how to comment on our blog.

Stuff we added
We added the 'Arcade Games' page, which now features classic arcade games which we played when we were very young (or when we were extremely bored).

We added the 'Give us Feedback' page, hoping that you guys will help us out by giving us feedback on The Dumb Kid's Stuff. The feedback form that we now use used to be powered by a random website, but we quickly switched to Google Drive forms as we trust Google more.

Website Showcase: MCDN360.COM

How do you find downloadable maps for the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft? Is that even possible?
Well, it totally is possible! Just go to MCDN360.COM !

MCDN360 is an epic website that features epic Minecraft Xbox downloadable maps almost every day.

You can be guaranteed that downloads from MCDN360 are virus-free as they are all MediaFire downloads with no surveys (and MCDN360 itself is virus-free as it is a WordPress website with no creepy embedded hackers)

Other than that, we won't say a lot more. If you don't know how to download the maps in to your Xbox console, you can check out the "How to download and install Minecraft Xbox Maps" page on MCDN360.

Enjoy the epic Minecraft Xbox maps from MCDN360!

Any Ideas Guys?

We're going to upload a few Minecraft animations for you guys, but we have no idea what to write for the animations' storyboards! We need your help for ideas on what our animations should be about!

Here are some rules for the ideas:
  • Ideas should not copy other YouTubers as that would be quite lame.
  • No battle/fighting scenes in the ideas because we are seriously still at beginner level for animating, so leave those ideas to the future please.
So if you guys have any ideas on what our animations should be about, please leave your ideas in the comments below. Thanks for helping us a bit here :-) .

Yay! A logo for our videos!

Minecraft Updates (all versions)

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
Let's face it, 4J Studios still has a long way to go for TU12 and the company's workers are working like robots for the fans. But 4 days ago, they posted this picture on Twitter, depicting the upcoming features that will be released in Minecraft Xbox TU12.

Did you see all the features in the amazing picture? If you didn't, here are they: redstone lamps, ocelots & cats, jungle biomes, iron golems and upside-down stairs (and slabs). The upcoming feature that you can't see in the photo is a doubled height limit (128 to 256).

Now that's the sweetest Minecraft Xbox Update of all time!

Minecraft PC Edition (1.6)

Minecraft Pocket Edition (0.7.0)
Minecraft PE players now have fire, buckets, milk, cake and eggs (gosh, still no redstone). Minecraft PE players now have to create a Mojang account and players will be able to buy servers.

0.7.0 also featured animated water, fancy skies, a farther render distance, a new main menu and 3rd person view. C'MON MINECRAFT PE CREATORS, REDSTONE PLEASE!

Before we start, here are some precautions:
WARNING!
- I believe you should be at least 10 years old to play the game.
- If you have those kind of "all video games are violent" parents, I don't think you should continue reading unless you really have the guts.
- This game that we are showcasing is highly addictive!

Let's take a break from the usual stuff today and look at other stuff apart from Minecraft & Star Wars. Here is a showcase of Jon Bonacci's Happy Wheels!

Happy Wheels is a game about, well, violence and reaching the finish line! Don't worry, the violence in the game is only fantasy violence.

In the game, players with a totaljerkface.com account can create levels up to their imagination, and anyone can play their levels. But don't worry, inappropriate images, sexual content, use of drugs and racially offensive speech are all not permitted in the game.

The game currently consist of 12 different characters and 9 different vehicles which you can operate.

But how do you play the game? Well, I can't write that down, but here's a video from TobyGames, a.k.a Tobuscus

Anyway, if you want to play the game, you can go to totaljerkface.com and select Happy Wheels to play the full version of the game. We have been playing Happy Wheels for quite a long time and you may want to play our levels by searching the keywords dumbkidsgaming. Enjoy the game.

It Has Begun

Hello and here's some great news about the holiday season this upcoming month! Sorry about the lame video; we only had an hour to make it.

Website Showcase: Stuff for Dummies

So much has happened in the past week, especially because the Xbox One has just been released, but we'll talk about that on another day this week. For now, let's take a break with this pretty nice website.

(sorry for trying to copy your website logo SFD, heheh)

The name of the website is Stuff for Dummies (stufffordummies.blogspot.com). The website features quite the same stuff that we do, although they do Wild Ones, Match of the Day, Fantasy Footy, Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters etc. which all I am clueless about, but ironically, they do different areas of the stuff we do.

For example, when they feature Minecraft, it is usually and update list or seed codes for the game, and for Star Wars, they also posts random stuff, but different random such as stuff about the Clone Wars Adventures and Angry Birds Star Wars when it was not yet released.

I really do not know the author at all, but I did comment on his rather lonely blog. I found Stuff for Dummies when I was very bored and doing random browsing, and just a reminder: the website is not in partnership with the Dummies company in any way, and please don't sue the author, it's just the name of the website.

So well, if you want the best of both websites (Stuff for Dummies and The Dumb Kid's Stuff), I suppose you may want to read both these humble websites frequently.

And now please don't sue me for using the word 'stuff' in my title; it's not like I stole it from Stuff for Dummies...

Another Boring Minecraft Day (Dumb Kid's Videos Animation)

This is another pathetically amateur Lego Minecraft video we dug out from our computer memory and edited. It is just about an oh-so randomly 'average' Minecraft day. Well, an average video indeed, whatever.

Anyway, during the holiday season and stuff like that, we would have more time to edit videos and we will make real Minecraft animations. I'm talking Mine-imator.

19 May 2013

App Showcase: Mine-imator

Do you watch ItsJerryandHarry, ExplodingTNT or anything like that and you seriously want to make your own MINECRAFT ANIMATIONS? Well, Mine-imator is the perfect animation software for you!

Mine-imator is easy-to-use (when you learn how to use it) and is specifically crafted for creating Minecraft animations. It's simple interface can be easily used by anyone. If you gave up on Blender, here is your dream software.

Mine-imator's Pros
- It is 100% free
- Save projects as pictures and videos
- Awesome animations can be made using
Mine-imator
-Walking and body-movement is all built into the software

Mine-imator's (current) Cons
- No baby animals and only 1 villager skin
- No eye and mouth movement for default characters
- Has a terrible scale-bending problem
- Windows only

Through the pros and cons, I would give Mine-imator a 7/10 for a Beta-version app. You can get Mine-imator here at stuffbydavid.com/mineimator (hurry and get it while it's free!). If you really don't know how to use Mine-imator, you can go to http://www.youtube.com/skiedude for help on animating in Mine-imator.

Free Microsoft Points?

Wow! Websites with free Microsoft Points! You can get free games, real money, movies all on your Xbox! Well, if you see any of those websites, my advise is don't trust them.

Here's a few reasons why:

1. They will require you to complete surveys.
Before you can even get those MS points comin' into your Xbox Live Account, the hacking websites will require you to complete these surveys created by hackers which will only close when you type in your personal information. Would you rather not get MS Points, or go bankrupt?

2. The codes do not even work
Okay, so you finally find a free MS Points website without you needing to complete surveys created by hackers. Let me tell you this: the MS Points codes do not even work! You are waisting your time!

3. The websites are outdated
I admit that there were working free Microsoft Points Codes websites a few years back, but the hacks are all patched up now.

4. It is illegal
If Microsoft finds out that you have been getting free Microsoft Points, well you would be in deep trouble. In fact, they will ban you from Xbox Live.

But that does not mean you cannot get free Microsoft Points! You can still get free Microsoft Points from Xbox Live Rewards (rewards.xbox.com)! Xbox Live Rewards is 100% legal as it is made by Xbox and you can get free points by completing monthly surveys, playing games and other stuff.

Welcome Back!

How long has it been since we left off? Well, we are back and here is a bunch of stuff that happened while we were away from the blog.

1. Minecraft

  • Minecraft PC 1.6 stuff has been introduced but not yet released. The update will feature horses and carpets. Pretty nice stuff.
  • Minecraft Xbox Title Update 10 and 11 was released recently, which only include bug fixes. But 4J Studios has been working hard and more for the Xbox 360 Edition is yet to come.
  • At 4J Studios, Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition celebrated their 1st birthday on May 9th. They posted their Minecraft birthday cake and gave the Xbox players a skin pack with a ton of amazing party skins.
2. Star Wars

  • Star Wars celebrated a very special occasion: Star Wars Day 2013. The special day was May 4th, and the Internet was spammed with people typing, "May the fourth be with you."
3. Our blog

  • We changed our blog template to this pretty nice template by DeluxeTemplates.net which includes the new 'featured post' bar on top of this post. Anyway, the featured is still quite messed up but come on, we don't even know coding!
  • Our page views were gradually increasing these past few days, and we are going to hit the 2000 mark today!
Welcome back to The Dumb Kid's Stuff!

In 3...2...1...

Hello guys, here's some great news!

We will resume blogging in a few more days, and very soon our holiday season is going to start (next month)! Just be patient as the wait is almost over! Stay tuned, because by the end of the week post will be flooding the website!

Remember to stay tuned!

An Upcoming Busy Period for Us

Hey there. This is just a short announcement.

We might hardly be posting stuff on this blog from tomorrow to the end of May, as we have tons of work to do and we have to concentrate on studying, so just to let you know, we are not abandoning the website.

But stay tuned, because after the end of May, the blog will be very active! We will have tons of post and stuff for you, and errmmm...we will still stick to posting about the usual stuff we usually feature (Minecraft, Star Wars, Dumbness etc.)

So, your support will always be appreciated for this amateur website but we will be very busy for a while.

Yours dumbly,
The Dumb Kid's Stuff

Young Bob & Eric Episode 1

Hey dudes, this is our first episode in a new video series we should be creating!

In this episode, we show you that Eric was FAT as a young boy, but Eric stranded him on a deserted island and he lost 10kg (please don't try that)! So, in Dumb Kid's Shorts and other deleted videos, he is as fit as a fiddle, well maybe.

Anyway starving is definitely NOT a good idea, this video is just a joke.

Name Change

Hey once again, here is a change we have been thinking about for about a week and we have finally decided to do it - change our blog name.

We realised our blog's former name (The Dumb Kid's Amazing Blogging & Video Website) was too long and too hard for people too say, so we decided to shorten it lolz. Now our blog is officially named The Dumb Kid's Stuff.

And we also decided that we wanted a logo change - we wanted a real logo, and that was something we thought of for a long time. We scribbled and used up quite a few pages in our ideas book and we finally thought of something that does not require copying anything from the Internet.

So here is our new logo, made using PowerPoint:

(this is our first attempt of the logo, actually)

With a new blog name, The Dumb Kid's Stuff, and even a logo, I hope it will make the site look less beginner-rish and make the name of the blog easier to write and say. Anyway, we are still beginners, learning from the bigger sites.

But this is definitely not a full-time website we do, we still have to go to school and study!

*If you find our new logo unattractive and dull, feel free to tell us, we will definitely try to make the changes you want.

Lego CUUSOO

So, where did the Lego Minecraft Micro World set come from? Well, from Lego CUUSOO!

Lego CUUSOO is this website where people post ideas for Lego sets, and once an idea reaches 10 000 supporters, Lego will consider it, though Lego's conditions are very strict.

So how exactly does Lego CUUSOO work?

1. Brainstorm!
You got some idea? Create a Lego CUUSOO account, (fake your age maybe) post your idea and obviously post a picture of your creation, and get those supporters comin' if you are lucky!

2. 10 000 Supporters, Amazing!
Wow! So was your idea good enough, was it? If you get 10 000 supporters, Lego will review your project, and you will probably wait for a term before you find out your idea's fait, though Lego is quite strict about their products, I think.

3. A Lego Set, Money!
If you are really that lucky and your project passes the review, you will get 1% of the total net sales of your Lego set, wow. So basically if your product earns $1 Million, you will earn
$10 000! How are you going to split the money?

So, if you want to make your own Lego Set come true like the Lego Minecraft Micro World, why don't you submit your idea now, and advertise it later, heheh. Here is the Lego CUUSOO website: www.lego.cuusoo.com

Can you spot the Lego CUUSOO logo on the box?

Title Update 9 Review: Minecraft (Xbox)

Title Update 9 was just released today, we just played it, and here's a review from us. Heehee, enjoy.
Review

The first thing that you realise that is different when you go back into a Creative Mode world, is that they added Spawn Eggs. I love this feature, and I believe you do too! It gives a much easier way to spawn mobs in the Xbox 360 Edition and I am glad that they added it in this update.

The Xbox's simple and easy-to-use Creative interface makes spawn eggs easily found. All you need to do is to click LT while holding a spawn egg and the mob appears.

This is one of the highlights in the update that we love.

Another great feature available in TU9 is The End. I believe 4J Studios has put in a lot of effort into this, and the feel of The End is even better and darker on the TV Screen while playing on the Xbox.

You are on the edge of your seat when you try defeating the Ender Dragon. It shoots Ender Acid, a new feature only on the Xbox 360 Edition and it is a LOT more fun on the TV screen, it is purely amazing.

And instead of showing end credits after you kill the Ender Dragon and when you are about to head back to the Overworld, it shows you an amazingly long typed-out dialogue of two 'gods'. It is an awesome experience for first-timers like me, and that's The End for you Xbox players.

Even though there are these new amazing features, there is an outrageous set-back. There is a bug that does not allow you to go back to your previously saved worlds.

That makes the Xbox 360 Edition like Minecraft PE Lite, where you cannot even save worlds and look at your previous creations. 4J Studios should really do something about it within 2 weeks; it is a horrid bug indeed.

NOT THAT TYPE OF BUG YOU NOOB!!! LAGGING...CRASHING, THOSE BUGS!!!

That's all we will specifically cover on as they are the 2 most significant features and the one most significant bug in the update, but here are the other features:

Changes and Additions

- Added Climbable Vines.
- Added Fire Charge, Wooden Button, Item Frames, Sandstone Stairs, Spruce Stairs, Birch Stairs, Nether Bricks, Spruce Planks, Birch Planks, Nether Brick Slab, Spruce Slab and Birch Slab.
- Added new music for The End and The Nether from C418
- Made buckets and signs stackable.
- Sheep now re-grow their wool after shearing.
- New gravel texture.
- Can now smelt Netherrack into a Nether Brick in a Furnace.
- Blacksmith buildings in Villages now hold chests with loot of the same type as found in Strongholds.
- Crafting recipe change - Sign recipe gives three Signs.
- Crafting recipe change - Half Slab recipes give six Half Slabs.
- Crafting recipe change - Stone Button now requires one block of stone instead of two.
- Added smoother color transitions between biomes.
- Added beaches to terrain generation.
- Fence Gates can now be opened and closed with Redstone.
- Changed Nether Fortress to make Nether Wart rooms more likely.
- Made Nether Wart spawn randomly wherever Soul Sand is generated in the Nether.
- Nether Wart will now grow in the Overworld.
- Made Dispenser dispense mobs from Spawn Eggs, rather than the egg itself.
- Dispenser will dispense lava/water from a Bucket of Lava/Water.
- Dispenser will shoot Fire Charges.
- Trapdoors can be placed on half slabs and stairs
- Allow players to block with a sword when the ‘Can Build And Mine’ option is unchecked by the host.
- Moved six of the twelve music disc quests in the Tutorial World
- Changed the Tutorial world to add climbable Vines, and some of the new items, and removed/reduced the items in the Brewing, Farming and Breeding chests.
- Don't show the achievements warning when loading a creative map that has already been saved in creative mode.
- Reduced the volume of the Ghast sound effects.
- Increased the distance jukeboxes can be heard from.
- Improved lighting code performance.
- Improved the loading/saving time.
- Changed the display order in the Minecraft Store to show newest DLC first.
- Added How To Play for The End and Farming Animals
- Added HUD size options for both splitscreen and full screen modes.
- Added Reset Nether option to force regeneration of The Nether. This is helpful for older saves that didn't have a Nether Fortress.
- Added a toggle for Death Messages.
- Added a toggle to hide or display the animated character in the User Interface.
- Allow individual splitscreen users to have their own settings for HUD.

Fixes

- Fix for a Nether portal crash due to Ghast fireballs
- Fix for Cave Spider size.
- Fixed Experience Orb pickup sound not having pitch variance.
- Fixed a crash when attaching Glowstone to Pistons.
- Fixed a render update problem on the end of world chunks
- Fixed a crash with players throwing Enderpearls and leaving the game.
- Stop the player animation for eating happening in the Change Skin menu

So, in overall, TU9 is my favourite update in Minecraft (Xbox), which features The End, and Spawn Eggs! But it also has probably the worst bug in Minecraft XBLA history-you cannot open your previously saved worlds!

The next significant Minecraft update coming out is the 0.7.0 update for the Pocket Edition, which should feature online multiplayer (servers!) and buckets.
